The first replacement was free but from now, I will have to pay for replacements. I got the new container, called them, made the adjustments , and the container still sits at an angle on the grinder.
The first time that I used it, I discovered how fragile the plastic bean container is. I don't understand why the part of this product, which has to be turned to get to the right grind and taken off to clean is made of cheap plastic.
I recently purchased this grinder after reading all of the glowing reviews. Even the rep that I spoke to confessed that they should have made the container out of more durable material and told me that when I got the new container to call them so that they would help me adjust the grinder.
Net, net, is when I tried to get the container on straight, a piece of plastic broke off. I called Capresso and they were very nice about replacing the container.
I'm anticipating another call to Capresso for a replacement. Bottom line, I have a Capresso coffee maker, which works great but feel like the burr grinder will be an expensive throw away.
I have never owned another burr grinder brfore this one so that is my disaclaimer. However as far as this one is concerned I am highly pleased i have owned it for nealry two years to grind for my press and Espresso machine which it does well for both. It has a good range of grinds, it cleans easily enough and has a nice little basin to scoop the coffee out of.Bear in mind you can buy the black model of this grinder for less and still get the same grinder. But the best thing about btis grinder is the price it operate like a top end grinder for far less than many others.
The difference is considerable in weight and quality with 565 being the better of the two. The Capresso Conical Burr grinder is a fine machine. Don't make the mistake of getting the 560 instead of the 565. The main difference being one is of plastic versus metal housing. The 565 is meeting all of my hopes of a grinder.
I haven't used for espresso yet, but I have no doubt that the grinds would be fine enough for it. A little pricey, but noticeably better than Krupps, Cuisinart, and the other "mainstream" brands. Grinds are absolutely consistent, and perfect for drip or press. Only con is that it is a PAIN to clean - but I suppose so would any burr grinder. I use compressed air to blow the grinds out of it, but I'm sure there are probably better / easier ways.Again, it is a little more expensive than the others, but well worth the investment.
I made a batch of ice coffee and right away noticed the improvement in the flavor. I read the reviews before purchasing this grinder and compared it to another grinder that I was considering. Based on the reviews, I went with this one. I use a french press to make my coffee, the coarse grind is perfect and I had less issues in pushing down the plunger filter compared to when I was using a blade grinder. If you want better tasting coffee, go with this grinder.
